Basic Bitch: Go To Shoes

Hey y’all!

Several months ago I made the first post in a series called ‘Basic Bitch’ (you can find that post here). Well, with fall quickly approaching I thought it was best to bring back that series.

Today we’re focusing on shoes. This post was actually quite difficult for me to write because if you know me in real life then you KNOW my weakness is shoes. I have two closets in my bedroom that are over-flowing with shoes, so much so that my 10-ish go to shoes are neatly lined up against the wall near my bed.

Today, I’ll be sharing with you the five pairs of shoes that I couldn’t live without.

Wedges

So, my most favorite pair of wedges are actually ones that I got in college to fit the criteria of my sorority’s recruitment attire. I think that every girl should have a great pair of brown wedges in her arsenal. They are a great transitional shoe from summer to fall and can be dressed up with a dress or dressed down with a great pair of flare jeans on a night out. Though my beloved Michael Kors ones are no longer available, I’m including a pair I’ve had my eye on for a few weeks. (Side note: How cute are these?!)

Black Mule or Loafer

If you follow me on Instagram, you KNOW I love a good mule. I think they are the perfect shoe to make any outfit look trendy and chic, yet professional. Plus, they are so comfortable and all the rage right now. Thank you, Gucci, for making slippers in public appropriate.

Rain Boots

I don’t know about where you live, but in Nashville when it rains, it pours – literally. We will go weeks without any rain or precipitation and then all of a sudden it will rain one day and won’t stop for like two weeks. I almost sold my Hunter boots after college, but boy am I glad I didn’t. these guys are some of the most worn shoes in my closet and a true staple item, in my opinion.

Sandals

I am not a huge wearer of flip flops (though I do swear by a line of jelly flip flops JCrew made years ago). I do love a sandal though. I keep a couple of pairs in my closet that I can reach for anytime and for my mother’s sake I won’t include my beloved pair of Birkenstocks on this list.

Ballin’ out Bitch: Jack Rogers Hamptons Metallic Flip Flop ($117.95)

Heel

Every gal needs a good pair of heels. They are the ultimate wardrobe ninja. There is always a need for a good heel – a wedding, a night out with your friends, a formal. You name it. I can almost promise you that something will happen and you’ll need a classic heel. I found an amazing pair of vintage Manolo’s  at a high-end thrift store that I’m saving for the perfect occasion, but until then I love to look at them.
