So at this point I bet you can realize that I am a huge proponent of basics in my closet. The majority of my wardrobe, to my mother’s dismay, is neutral.
My life right now requires everything to be functional and practical and I’ve rounded up my favorite pieces for you all to see. To kick off the series, I’m going to be focusing on basic tops that transition from day to night easily.
The next few weeks I’ll be sharing my go-to’s with you all and I’m so excited to see what you all love too.
These t-shirts are SO cheap and SO comfortable. I seriously cannot rave about them enough. I grabbed one of these (in black) on a whim during a recent trip to DC when I just wasn’t happy with my go to piko anymore. These are a little less boxy so you actually have a shape but they are long enough to cover your bum or to do a sweet half tuck with. I am obsessed with these and can’t wait to expand my collection even more.
I own this shirt in a couple of colors and let me just tell you, I wish I had it in even more. It is the coziest, cutest shirt basically ever. As you’ll see, I’m a sucker for a black and white stripe moment and this shirt is so cute. It’s perfect for running to the grocery, then swiping on a red lip and a half tuck and you’re good to go to happy hour.
This is another one of those pieces that is a unicorn for me in that it is the perfect transitional, cozy, and cute! I think sometimes it’s hard to wear these basics without looking a little bit disheveled but this top really makes it look like I have my life together (I definitely don’t!). This top is best paired with a cute pair of jeans and sandals and is perfect for running errands or meeting your gals out for dinner – which if you can’t tell is a serious theme in my life.
I cannot rave enough about Leith. This brand is the most luxuriously soft and wearable brand like EVER. Several years ago I picked up several of these v-necks during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and my love affair with the brand has just gone from there. I love these bell sleeve tops because they are soooooo chic and effortless. I am all about looking my best with minimal fuss and these tops fit the bill.
Is there anything more chic than an all black outfit with a great pair of heels and a hot lipstick? In my opinion, no. Black is always a safe bet and I always feel the best when I’m in a killer black outfit and this tunic is perfect. It’s lightweight but also long-sleeved so its perfect for this weird almost spring – almost winter weather we’re currently suffering through in Nashville. Anthro is one of my most beloved stores and I swear everything I buy there is of the best quality and fit, so it’s worth a little bit higher of a price tag.
