Easy Hummus

Hey y’all!

I’ve got one final Super Bowl Week recipe for you – a super easy classic hummus.

At my house, hummus is a real crowd pleaser and it’s something that we always keep stocked in our refrigerator.

I love that hummus is such an easy, healthy snack. You can pair it with a ton of stuff and add in different ingredients to get a different taste.

This was my first time using an actual tahini sauce, and I have to say I love it.

I also made this recipe in a Magic Bullet so it’s super easy for everyone.


What You’ll Need:

1 (15 oz.) can organic chickpeas

1 small garlic clove or 1 tablespoon garlic

1/4 cup lemon juice

1/4 cup tahini (well-stirred)

2 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil

2 tablespoons water

1 tablespoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon Himalayan pink salt

Dash of paprika


What You’ll Do:

1. In a blender, combine tahini, lemon juice, water, olive oil and garlic. Mix for about a minute until it becomes paste-like.

2. Add in salt, cumin and paprika. Blitz for about 10 seconds.

3. Add in half of the chickpeas and blend for about a minute. Combine the second half and blend for another minute.

4. Add in more olive oil or water as needed to break up the hummus.


What You’ll Need to Know:

This is such an easy recipe because you literally throw everything in a blender and mix it up. I would suggest serving the hummus in a bowl and topping with a drizzle of olive oil and a dash of paprika. You can change things up by adding in black beans or roasted peppers or strata to create different flavors. One of my favorite ways to eat hummus is on a rice cake for lunch. Super yummy, full of nutrients and low in calories.
