So, unfortunately, this week is super crazy for me and I’m only going to be posting one blog this week.
When you read this I will be on my way to Washington DC. During my time in DC one of my big responsibilities was to help plan an inauguration party for my company, so I’m excited to see the fruits of my labor. Even more than that, I am really, really excited to go to the Women’s March on Washington on Saturday.
I try to stay away from getting political, but in these turbulent times I want you to know that you matter to me and girl power and all of that.

OKAY, switching gears, today I want to tell you guys about my favorite things to use in the kitchen and my ‘must have’ items!!
This one seems like an obvious selection and I’ll tell you why it is such a no-brainer to me. My KitchenAid is one of my most beloved belongings and something I coveted from the time I was 12 until I got one when I graduated college in May. I have the Pro 600 Series 6 Quart Stand Mixer. What’s so awesome about these, apart from their obvious mixing ability, is that you can do a ton with them, like shred chicken and make bread! Also there are a multitude of attachments that you can use with your mixer! I have the ice cream maker attachment and have my eye on the spiralizing attachment next! There’s also a pasta press, a food processor, and slow juicer attachments.
If you don’t have a KitchenAid Mixer or you haven’t taken the plunge to buy the spiralizer attachment yet, don’t fear. This is probably in my top three most used kitchen gadgets. I LOVE pasta, like live and die for it, could eat it for the rest of my life, LOVE. But, I’m trying to be good and cut out a lot of dense carbs, insert my love of a vegetable spiralizer. They also aren’t that expensive, so that’s a bonus! My younger brother bought me one last year for my birthday and I love mine so much. Yesterday for lunch I made a zucchini pasta with some grilled chicken, spinach, and basil – it was delicious and less than 250 calories! There is so much that you can do with this baby, you can make sweet potato fries, create a pasta and fried rice alternative with zucchini, and create really precise cuts with it. I definitely recommend.
Glass Prep Bowls
Okay so these glass prep bowls are perfect for keeping my ~insta game~ strong, but they are also super useful when making a meal with several different ingredients, like my zucchini lasagna that was on our family menu last week. Additionally, the bowls are stackable so they take up very little space and microwavable. I love how multipurpose they are and use them all of the time.
Ground Meat Chopper
I’m not going to lie; I made fun of my mom for using this tool for years. That is until I went away to college and began cooking for myself. I absolutely adore this ground meat chopper because its really easy to break apart the beef or turkey and cook it more thoroughly and evenly. Plus it gives you a great arm workout too!
I firmly believe that there is nothing better than a cup of French press coffee. They come in a multitude of sizes, but in a house like mine with three heavy coffee drinkers, this 12-cup press is PERFECT. Just add the grinds, let it steep for 3-4 minutes and serve. It is super simple and makes for a rich cup of coffee.
It cannot be stressed enough how important it is to have a good, sharp, high-quality knife. My personal favorite one is by Cutco, but this one is a great alternative. Sharp knives allow you to have more control and precision and ultimately will keep you from injuring yourself.
