Go-To Smoothies

Happy Wednesday, y’all!

I’m sorry for no Monday post this week, but I will be explaining more on Friday!

I am in a wedding in six weeks and going to a bachelorette party in two and let me just tell you, I am a nervous wreck! Of course I want to look my best so I have been all about a smoothie for breakfast or lunch lately.

This week I am collaborating with one of my dear friends, Hannah, to give y’all two yummy, easy smoothies that will become your go-to drinks!

From Hannah: Kick Booty Kale Smoothie

If you’re reading this, I’m guessing you are a fan of #KaleMeCrazy already. So am I, naturally. But paying $8 for a teeny smoothie?! If I wanted to grab a smoothie each day, I would be paying around $56/week to get my fix. No thank you.


What You’ll Need:

2 c lightly packed, chopped kale (stems removed)

3/4 c unsweetened vanilla almond milk (or any milk of your choosing)

1 chopped banana

1/4 c plain Greek or non-fat yogurt

1/4 c frozen pineapple pieces

2 tablespoons peanut or nut butter

1 – 3 teaspoons honey

2-3 ice cubes (optional)

How You’ll Do It:

1. Place all ingredients in a blender or bullet and blend until smooth.

2. Add more milk or ice as needed to reach desired consistency.

3. Garnish the top with chia seeds for added fiber, protein and healthy fats!

From Cara: That Which Doesn’t Kale You, Makes You Stronger

Y’all this is my go-to smoothie. Seriously. It is the most simple smoothie I have in my arsenal and it is my favorite on a day to day basis. I have this and a serving of egg whites every morning to keep me charged up and ready to go for the day.

What You’ll Need:

1 c frozen kale

1 c frozen blueberries

1 frozen banana

1 tablespoon white chia seeds

1 c filtered water

How You’ll Do It:

1. Combine all ingredients in a blender or bullet and blend until smooth.

2. Add more chia (makes it thicker) or water (thins it out) for desired consistency.


What You’ll Need to Know:

Hannah and I are both HUGE fans of the Magic Bullet. Neither of us are the next Martha Stewart but this little contraption makes everything so easy. It comes with 3 sizes of plastic containers and you can easily add all of your smoothie ingredients in, screw on the lid, and blend! For easy transport and virtually no mess, you can screw on a to-go top and be on your way! Plus, these babies are dish washer safe and make for easy blending and an even easier cleanup.
